IN THE KINGDOM OF NIGHT (Be Thankful)
Be thankful.
For round you,
Thy life there is a world
Without conscience
Without light.
To;
All thee who live
And all thee who strive
Strife may not as yet
Have touched your bones.
So
Be thankful.
For the lark & the light
And the music of the night
And its kingdom.
So far from the dark
And apart from those times
A better world that
Is still trying
To be a better world.
So
Be thankful.
For the child, and the heart
And the happiness & time
The seasons and the soul and
The hope that our kind,
Keeps.
So
Give thanks.
For in the true
Kingdom of Night
There is no love to find,
No beauty, no truth no meaning
And no time
No time
To live
Or be
Or love
Or find
You.
So
Be thankful
For it is not merely
The act of being alive,
Survival
But for that which
Keeps you alive,
Against the storms
Against the hard times
“Faith”
For among the ruins
There is a shining diamond
A star within the wreckage
Waiting to be found
So be thankful
That the daylight shines
For you
Each morning
And that the moon
Remains to remind
That time, life
Is merely a passing dream
And that the night
Good or bad
Shall eventually pass
For good.

IN THE COMPANY OF RILKE …
IN THE COMPANY OF RILKE.
Rainer Maria Rilke was a giant of twentieth-century writing who is quickly becoming a visionary voice for our own time, captivating readers not only with his brilliance but also the way he boldly addresses the “deepest things.” Speaking through his own contradictions and ambivalences, he gives readers a profound understanding of the complex beauty of the human existence.
In her new book, In The Company of Rilke (Tarcher/Penguin, on sale Nov 10), bestselling author and spiritual leader, Stephanie Dowrick, invites the reader into the transcendent and piercingly beautiful world of the much-loved poet, and reveals how we can connect with our inner life through his poetry.
My whole effort for years might be described as an effort to fathom my own design, to explore my own channels, to discover my own ways…
I have at last discovered my own America, I believe I have found my language, I think I know my way.
And I shall wreak out my vision of this life, this way, this world and this America, to the top of my bent, to the height of my ability, but with unswerving devotion, integrity and purity of purpose that shall not be menaced, altered or weakened by anyone.

The Scientist & The Poet …
EINSTEIN: There are two different conceptions about the nature of the universe – the world as a unity dependent on humanity, and the world as reality independent of the human factor.
TAGORE: When our universe is in harmony with man, the eternal, we know it as truth, we feel it as beauty.
