OF SPIRIT, ASH & BONE
Is the New Book By Author, Poet & Writer R.M. Engelhardt is something entirely different & new that has been written in the poetic form & style of Sermons & Southern Gothic*Biblical Religious texts as well as in other verse styles. Unlike his previous poems and works over the last some 25 years Engelhardt uses these old forms to take on the problems and issues of today, now the 21st Century like War, Poverty, Racism & The Earth’s Present State of Oppression & Global Warming. Still a strong proponent and supporter of unique, experimental literary forms and Pagan Poetics R.M. Engelhardt has created a book which thus transcends, returns us all to a lost forgotten language of old and of the pure school of “Damnation, Fire & Brimstone” in the context of reaching a new generation with the warnings and poetic prophecies of change before it’s far too late.

Of Spirit, Ash & Bone Poems Parables Coming Soon

Of Spirit Ash & Bone

We live in destitute times wherein the gospel of greed and financial profit, not prophecy, answers our existential questions. The good poet, just as the prophet in days gone by, speaks to us in a language that jolts our memory and challenges our power of self-perception and imagination.

~ John Dewey

Of Spirit, Ash & Bone is the new book of poetry coming out soon and to be released by Dead Man’s Press Ink in 2022. Unlike my past work Spirit will be something different and unexpected yet still falling into the genre of pagan poetics as well as what could even be considered narrative & southern gothic. Also, the book will include a section of poems released in 2016 from my past book ” The Bones of Our Existence” which was only previously released on Kindle and are a series of pieces that were based on dystopian dreams that literally forced me to write the words & images down. Included in Spirit are also short narrative fables, stories which are based upon myth as well as what can only be called modern folklore for the 21st century. More News coming soon.

Best,

EXTREMUM VITAE SPIRITUM

AURAL SUPREMACISTS another worthless war, war of words, weapons substituting the mystique of false authority in secular motion. Do not attempt to decieve these shadows … Death is death. Pain is pain. Violence is violence. The waves of voices, strangers screaming from far off distant lands we cannot fathom or ignore. We stand in rebellion. We stand as one. We are the future as we watch your crumbling empires fight like ridiculous children over the remenents of land, control in desperation. Pathetic & immature. Ruthless & sick, twisted like the mindset of all primitive things unwanted and unloved. It’s always the same. Old men & cowards believing they are powerful. Sending the young off to die because they are too weak to fight themselves without courage, genitals. But your time, lives end here. We have outgrown you & your outdated ideas. “Control Control Control”. We do not fear you but laugh at you knowing you have something to hide. We stand in REBELLION. We stand as one. We are THE FUTURE. Your time is done. And we are ending it NOW. We are RESISTANCE. You are nothing and shall be forgotten like the dust. Beneath us, like the earth. Extremum Vitae Spiritum

Give Up The Ghost.

Words are powerful. Words make a difference. They can create and destroy. They can open doors and close doors. Words can create illusion or magic, love or destruction. … All those things.

An Interview With Albany’s Nippertown, July of 2021

Let’s be honest.

2021 was not the best of year’s for many of us with covid still rampant as well as for many of us still stuck working from home. But for me there were a few bright spots. Jai & I were able to create many new books for Poets & Authors at DeadMansPressInk & create a brand new open mic at The Fuzebox. One of the best moments for me was an interview with Jim Gilbert & Nippertown about my latest book ” We Rise Like Smoke Poems Psalms & Incantations Published by DeadMansPressInk. Dedicated to our girl, our cat Cordelia we lost in April. Life isn’t the same without her.

Best to you & yours in the coming New Year.

This Night, Invisible~ A Poem By R.M. Engelhardt

We Rise Like Smoke Poems Psalms Incantations by R.M. Engelhardt

THIS NIGHT, INVISIBLE

an
invocation

a
trance

at dusk
the souls
wander in
1 by 1
in a procession

of

tragedy

faith

&

loss

where the clocks
all time
has stopped

and
the dance
begins which
never ends

moves beyond
the flesh

your gods

as

sound –

words –

voices-

writhe-

wound –

annihilate

worship

a once empty
space

a void

maniacally
through the
vast & vaulted
air

as the
music endures

plays
on

where
there is
no kingdom

no glory
no power
false angels
or starflecked demons

the life after
ever after

where
there is only
you & I

in this night

invisible

this night
unseen

and so
in my grief
my sorrow

& as a friend

I invite you

with all love
and all respect
imperfect
and un-true

as always

in whatever mirror
conjured

this night

all beautiful

all living
or dead

you are
desired

you are
loved

without
end

WHERE THERE IS NO VISION: Poems R.M. Engelhardt 2020 Now Available on Amazon

Where There Is No Vision by R.M. Engelhardt

“Where there is no vision, the people perish; rather, cast off restraint, become ungovernable, cannot be reined in” ~ Exodus 32:22, 25

WHERE THERE IS NO VISION :
Is the new book of poetic-prose by poet/writer R.M. Engelhardt written over the last several months March ~June of 2020 coming off of his last book of mysticism & poetry “DarkLands”. His new work”Where There Is No Vision” poetically and vividly captures the days & these times of fear, racism, death and the coronavirus quarantine with all the rage, truth, anger, grieving & sadness of a divided, broken & exploited American people betrayed by their own sociopathic President and even by both parties of their own government who did nothing to stop his reign or the death surrounding us themselves. The year 2020 will be remembered as the year a great nation was almost destroyed by a tyrant and his supporters. “Where There Is No Vision” will also be remembered for it’s scathing cry out against a country & administration which refuses to change or even save it’s own people who are on the verge of a near revolution and a recognition of false heroes, values and the destruction of a fraudulent democracy ruled by wealth & race.

Be Warned.

A Reckoning is Coming.

The Ballad of Fast Eddie

Picsart2017-30-11--09-57-00.jpg

THE BALLAD OF FAST EDDIE

Back
In the 1970s
Fast Eddie was
An old man
Who walked
Down the streets
Of the city
Of Troy
Looking for a
Fight looking for
All the bad guys in
A child sized
Cowboy hat with
Two cap
Pistols & his
Belt looking
For the
OK Corral
On the streets
And in the
Alleyways of
The city where
He was the sheriff
Waiting for the clock
To strike

Noon

“Eat lead!”

Eddie would yell
At all the passersby’s
Who laughed
At him cap
Guns blazing in
The air
The sun the
Fastest gunslinger
In the West
This side of
Albany a legend
Who kept Troy
Safe from a world
Too hard to
Understand too
Scared to deal
With life & all
The pressures
Of the world
And of
The mind

Eddie
Liked his
Sarsaparilla
Straight up
And took no
Gruff from
Anyone another
Hero lost in time
Protecting the world
From the men in
Black hats that
We could
Never see

Eddie
Was a real
Gunfighter
A real man that
All the children
Could look up
To a man who
Was kind but
Tough but who
Didn’t see the
End coming

Until one
Day when
Eddie was casually
Walking down
The block
And got shot down
By the gas company
Maintenance man
Known to all his friends
As Tom Terrific
Who pointed his
Finger at Eddie
And said

“Draw!”

And fired

But Eddie just
Wasn’t fast
Enough
His pistols never
Leaving the holsters
In time

Pow! Pow!
Tom’s finger
Took him down
And Eddie
Pretended to
Be shot
And dropped
To the ground

And
That was
The End
Of Fast
Eddie
And he
Was sent
To a psychiatric
Hospital
Where they
Just called him

“Ed”
