Life, poetry in general is about experience and language. How you present this rare magic is key. The writer or poet is not an expert. It’s how you present it. In other words? Each God is a God and each man is a man or for that matter woman. A line is a line and beauty is beauty. Tragedy is tragedy and you own both. There are no workshops or religions that can ever teach you to be you or how to live or write. You must find these words by yourself and then put them down on paper or find your own way, your own path in the dark.
A wise old black man once told how to look at life and his words have stayed in my mind since and for many years. He said “When things go bad they could’ve been worse. And I’d rather play the blues than nothin” at all. ”
Some may read the words, others not. But the poem or the story never truly ends. The writers will write and singers will sing and every tomorrow is just another beginning. The human heart and voice, just like the muse is something eternal. And when we all drop off the map or walk somewhere off into the afterlife another kid will be there to take our place. Dreaming and creating their story, their poem, the world.
