The other day
I saw an old man in a long coat
With a beard posting
Flyers around town

Trying to find something

Someone

The flyer said ” Missing”

Last seen hanging out
At the NY Nuyorican Cafe
In 1998

At a spoken word event

The name of the writer artist
Formerly known

As “Myth”

The description said that
They were Black, White, Asian
& Native American but that
They may look male or female
Wearing a shirt that said
Inspiration .. “Inspire”

& Create Epic Shit

Formerly known by the other names like
Muse, Zeitgeist & many others

Over centuries
Over time

As all the signs & rumors spread

Dionysus & Jim Morrison
Dead in France

Tupac Shakur
Shot in the head

Lucan
Dead in Rome

Corporations & commercial
Enterprises taking over
And not letting Myth in
The Door

Myth disappeared
A number of times
Only to unexpectedly
Appear again

Worked over the years
In the publishing
& music business

At art galleries
And in different countries
Helping out others

And could speak
In multiple languages

Blake was a good friend
As were all the beats
In San Francisco

Knew Marlowe
And Will Shakespeare

Some even say Myth
Was spotted last at Kerouac’s
Funeral and threw a flower on
His grave, then seemed lost

Some say that Myth
Has left us forever

Got sick & tired of
All the repetitive bullshit
& the people who have
Sold out his her legacy

To make just profit

Not something
Of true value

Or everlasting

Myth hasn’t even been
Spotted at an open mic
Or a punk rock club
In years

And now just
Rejects society

Some even say
That Myth is dead
Or in hiding

Somewhere in
The South Pacific Islands

Just writing &
Creating art

Patiently
For another century

Where music
Art & poetry

Matter
Again

Myth
Appears Missing

The flyer
Is correct

And if anyone
Has seen Myth

Bring them home
